My name is John Gillies. I am a Glasgow based Bagpiper and have been playing the bagpipes for over 20 years, competing at local and national competitions both solo and with various pipe bands.
I starter Scottish Piper Hire when I moved to Glasgow from the Isle of Skye in 2012 and I have a vast experience of piping at weddings and various other functions all over the United Kingdom. Some of the highlights include: Winning the World Pipe Band Championships in 2024, Playing for the late Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles at The Royal Braemar Gathering, being cast in the film 'Maid of Honour,' meeting Patrick Dempsey, as well as even being asked to play at St Paul's Cathedral!
